there are 818 einstein tiles, of which 103 have "upside down" orientation
the tiles are made of triplex, and stick by magnets to a steel whiteboard
black, white and four intermediate grays of acrylic paint were applied
size: 102 x 81 cm
the tiles were made for the
MathFest world record
in aperiodic tiling (Dutch only), held on September 17, 2023 in Brugge, Belgium;
I am grateful to the organizing Platform Wiskunde Vlaanderen for donating these tiles to me
at the Mathfest three types of tiles were used (see the pictures shown on the above Mathfest site):
darker brown wood, lighter beige triplex, and red plastic; the tiles donated to me are the
lighter beige triplex ones
